Followed by a Q&A with Léa Todorov
Lili d'Alengy, a Parisian courtesan, is at the height of her fame at the beginning of the 20th century when she must flee to Rome to conceal her daughter Tina, born disabled.
There, she meets Doctor Maria Montessori, who has developed a method to help “deficient” children. But Maria Montessori - the public face of female modernity and emancipation at the time - also has a secret: a child born out of wedlock. Together, the two women will help each other assert themselves and make history in a man's world.
