About the 5th edition
Daniel Brühl has been involved in critically acclaimed film and television projects and has gained international recognition for his talent and versatility. His role in the internationally acclaimed Good Bye, Lenin! in 2003 earned him several prestigious awards. Quentin Tarantino brought him back to Hollywood in 2009 for Inglourious Basterds, before he starred in Ron Howard's Rush in 2013, in which he played Formula 1 driver Niki Lauda against his rival at the time, James Hunt, earning him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes. He went on to star in The Fifth Estate (2013), Captain America: Civil War (2016), as well as the hit series The Alienist (2018 to 2020) and Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021). Daniel Brühl will direct his first film, Next Door, in 2021, a film he is also producing and starring in. The screenplay was written by best-selling author Daniel Kehlmann based on an idea by Brühl. Daniel Brühl runs the international film production company Amusement Park Film with Malte Grunert, has published two books and owns a Spanish tapas bar in Berlin. He is a member of the Oscar Academy and has been awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres) in France.
